I’m not a big social media user, but I do like to know about what people are doing in their careers. One thing that I’ve regularly kept up with is LinkedIn. It’s not the sexiest thing in social media, but it has afforded me opportunities to build connections and work on side projects to increase my skill set. I also got a job through it once, so I do think it can be useful.
In any case, one of the new things that started popping up in my newsfeed on LinkedIn is an organization called GEMKonnect. The organization is run by Indian jewelry experts who have experience at all levels within the diamond industry. They put out articles about what’s happening within the diamond and precious gem supply trade, and really give an interesting perspective on what is ailing the retail diamond market at this stage in the global economy. I thoroughly enjoy their point of view and really like learning about what’s happening from the big picture perspective within the industry.
I highly recommend that anyone who is interested in the jewelry industry take a look at GEMKonnect’s website and follow their blog. I’m definitely a devoted follower!
